This year, my husband and I started pondering whether or not we would be approved to buy a house. Our first instinct was that there was no way we could get one, as I had just finished paying my student loans off and my husband was still paying his and had just purchased a brand new car. However, we filled out an online application with a major financial institution and were surprised that we indeed were preapproved for a substantial mortgage for first-time homebuyers. However, neither of us felt comfortable using an impersonal institution, so we were referred to Twyla through a mutual friend.
Using Twyla as our mortgage broker was probably the best thing we could have done. Being first-time home buyers, we were very uneducated on the whole buying process and the steps that needed to be taken. Twyla worked with us to get us a preapproval and was very available to answer any questions we had… and believe me, there were a lot of them.
When we fell in love with the home we now own and put an offer in for it, it happened to be Thanksgiving Sunday. Twyla had always said to let her know whenever we put an offer in on a place, so I sent her a quick email. Within minutes she had called me back to talk about the house, what we should do and everything else that comes with buying a home.
Throughout our dealings with Twyla, she was courteous, VERY informative and extremely patient. There were times where we would be freaking out, not sure about what we should be doing and who we should be talking to about the house transaction. Whether or not the matter was of Twyla’s concern, she always pointed us in the right direction and kept us on the proper path. In fact, there was a time where she emailed out of the blue to ask whether we had heard from our lawyer yet, and since we hadn’t, she suggested we call them up to see what was going on. Thank goodness she did, because they had us filed as refinancing our house, not buying a new one! I would not hesitate to recommend her services to any potential home buyer. Plus, she just sent us a cool black and white framed photo of our house with the folder full of mortgage documents!! Talk about service!!

When we were purchasing our first home, all the information we were receiving could be a bit overwhelming. We went through the Home Program which is where we met Twyla and we are so lucky that we did! We used her as our mortgage broker and she was extremely helpful with the whole process.
